PEERSⓇ Social Skills Groups

PEERS is an evidence based social skills intervention for adolescents in middle and high school who are interested in making and keeping friends.  This internationally acclaimed program is now offered in 35 countries and was originally developed at UCLA by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson.  During a PEERS session, teens are taught social skills and given the opportunity to practice these skills with peers.  Parents attend seperate sessions and are taught how to assist their teens through socialization homework assignments.

Teens will learn how to:

  • use appropriate humor
  • conversation skills
  • electronic communication
  • be a good host
  • be a good sport
  • handle arguements and disagreements
  • handle rejection, easing and bullying and more.
